Eternal hope
Reminds me to return to where joy flows
From deep within salvations righteous blanket
Covered with a perfect fit
Praise rises from this garment
Where glory displays

The moonlit night
The oceans still
The bleakest desert

Mercy house

I am secure
Safe in your arms
They are strong and gentle
They never let go
You hold me close
Close to your heart
We are one
One in love
One in deed
You are with me
My heads on straight
Your mercy cup overflows
Goodness keeps following me everyday
For I live with you in your house
Forever.

Becoming all things to all men

Getting down to the base of humanity
Getting into the fibre of their world
Being knit into their tapestry
Entwined into the colours of their culture
Sown into and rooted into their soil
Planted so deep that they say
You're one of us
You now belong
You're not contextualised
You're adopted
Through love and devoted service
A laid down life for the sake of love
No cost too high
No sacrifice too great
A statesman for Christ
Both humble and noble
Greater love has no man than this
That he lay his life down for his brother.  

My peace

Rolls of laughter
Spread out like leaves on trees
Blowing this way
Swaying the other
Lifting off
Floating upon
Summer nights and autumn winds
Winter chills and spring tides
Rising heavenward
Counting clouds in sapphire skies
Upward
Outward
Inward
Deeper.

Home of sparrows

My river flows in the low places
Bow down
Touch the earth on bended knee
Here lies the resting place
The home of sparrows
Gentle and humble
The home of lambs
Reigning royalty of lions pride
Eyes fixed with deep burning gaze
Upon Holy
Awesome consuming fire.

Prayer

For the pleasure of knowing You and the privilege of glorifying Your Name.
This is how I want my life to be fully spent.

Eclipsed

Eclipsed within the greatest light
Pulled behind the curtain
The holy of holies
Secret place
Brilliant white
Glory bright
Lifter of my head
Deeper still
Into the deepest place
Yearning
Longing
Absolute desire
Nothing beyond
Knowing You

He never lets go.

As light is to day
So is the road to my journey
To see the bends
To move beyond uncertainty
Even when the light fades and what remains is unknown
To walk along such paths
Knowing yet not knowing
Takes faith
Courage
Tenacity
A life mantra that says
"Never give up"
I may fall down
Bow down
But never bow out
Impossible as it seems
More impossible to give up
Constant steady moves
Undergirded by a certain fact
A guaranteed future
Knowing my anchor is placed in heaven
Like an eternal umbilical chord
Always pulling and drawing me toward my destiny
With assurance and unfading hope
An unrelenting faith
In an unwavering Saviour
Who holds me
Forever.  

Alfa and Omega

Everything swirls around you
Flows toward you
Consummation of the ages
Rock of ages
Beginning and end
My starting point
My finishing ribbon
My meaning today.

Tranquility

Tranquility
Can you reach out and touch it
Does it appear then slowly envelop you
Like loving arms holding you as the sun slips over the deep blue horizon
The quiet of night once the storm has passed
The fire that warms you inside
Away from the blistering rain
Is it the steady beat of your own heart
At rest
At peace
Tranquil.

How's your balance?

Life hangs in the balance
A donation here
A coma there
Fragile
Like flowers
Beautiful arrays
Alluring fragrance
Then blown away by the wind
Jesus hung on a tree
So I would no longer be weighed
In the balance
No longer
A fading flower
But
An eternal tree
Planted by streams of
Living water.

In Christ the hope of glory

The rhythms of life
Flow freely
Within a living hope
Bringing suffering to its knees
Through joy that knows no limit
For it is bound in heaven
Kept for all eternity. 

Jesus loves me this I know!

I awaken to a new day of love
Faithfully rolling out its blanket of grace
Like the early morning dew
You cover me with mercy
Inviting me to drink
Deeply from your cup of life
You say
Come let my fountain wash over you
Come let me draw you in
Come that I may know you
Let your weary heart find rest
Let my glory lift your head
So I put my trust in you my treasure
My hope is stirred anew
Inside love's deepest longing
No one nor anything else will
ever do.

Integrity

Where's your integrity gone son?
Swung east with the wind
West with the breeze
Neither here nor there
Drifting like a feather
Changing one minute from the next
Just like the weather
Too much talk
Way too much
Words rolling off lips
A dime a dozen
Like honey on a hot spoon
Just slipping off
Then melting away
Off into the distance
Lost in the sunset
Never hitting the mark
Never finding its place
A life without integrity
A man without truth
Unbridled lies
Racing towards destruction
Without future or hope
Meaningless
Find integrity son
Then you'll have courage enough
To run your race.

Which in light of eternity

Search

The valley of soul
lies just beyond
the highest gaze
From there
I plunge into
The greatest depth
To find
The One
And lay captured by
His gaze.

Lame foot and cross arms.

Lame foot and cross arms walked along the bridge
Staring at the danger sign
Off they went into the water below
Perhaps they'll miss the rocks
How many in the world are like lame foot and cross arms
The signs are everywhere
Danger here
Danger there
Their ears are deafened with the voice of fools
Unable to listen
Unable to learn
They jump and jump
Until one day
They hit the rocks.
